The term you're looking for is "non-social". Introverted is also an acceptable synonym. Antisocial behavior is belligerent, with disregard for other people's well-being, and as an introvert myself, I always feel at least a little insulted when people call me and my kind "anti-social", even though I'm quite sure people who use it don't recognize the mistake they're making and aren't being intentionally insulting.

On a similar note, of course, as I find more material regarding introversion and gain more confidence in this particular quirk in my personality, I find it highly insulting that an employer should find it necessary to screen me out for that as well. I am perfectly capable of donning the guise of "extroversion" whenever necessary, which definitely includes in the workplace, and this Unicru test never allows me the option to express that. As you say, context is very important.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2399838213886089319.post-11346036784246806162010-03-28T08:43:29.081-04:002010-03-28T08:43:29.081-04:00A guy went to a job interview, and while being int...A guy went to a job interview, and while being interviewed, the interviewer asks:
Well, everything looks good, I just have a few more questions for you to determine if we will hire you and what kind of person you are...Are you ready?
_yes please, go ahead.
__Ok,so... You are walking in a dark road, and see two headlights heading your way, what is it?
_a car, of course.
_Yes,but what kind of car? a Chevy,a BMW,a Volkswagen,a Toyota..?
_I have no clue, its dark..
_Hmmm...ok..
_Second question: You are still on the same road, and now one headlight is heading your way very fast, what is it?
_A motorcycle.
_Very good but what kind of motorcycle? a Suzuki, a Honda, a Harley Davidson...?
_Sir, theres no way to tell if is far off and dark!
_I see...
_Last question: You are still on the said road, and you see now one small headlight coming your way but very slow and flickering...What is it?
_a Bicicle.
_Very good, but what kind of bicicle? a Shimano, a mountain bike, a cruiser, a racing bike?
_Sir,honestly this is pointless and if its dark how can one tell at a distance?

_Well,I have to inform you then that YOU FAILED according to OUR quiz standards, and I cannot offer you employment...
-I understand..but.. May I ask you then, one question in the same line of thought??
-Of course you may!!
_Ok..You are on that same dark road, and as you are walking, you see a woman approaching you with heavy make up,wearing skimpy clothes, high heels and swinging her purse..what is it?
_ a Whore, obviously...
_Yes,very good but what kind of whore? Your whore-sister,your whore wife or, your whore mother you dumbfuck?

(Thats how i feel about the unicru-kronos shit quiz, its tottaly contrdictory and discriminative)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2399838213886089319.post-25584585372301101012009-10-26T14:58:05.109-04:002009-10-26T14:58:05.109-04:00This single post has summed up pretty much everyth...This single post has summed up pretty much everything I've been thinking about the horror that is Unicru. I can tell you from personal experience that the entire thing is a gigantic waste of time.

Beginning in June of 2007, I was employed by Best Buy. It took three seperate applications to finally earn the magical "green" rating in the Unicru system. Two years later, I leave that job for another (that ended up not working out). Now I am attempting to apply to a Best Buy store in another town, and I have to wade through the Unicru mess once again.

Both the department senior and operations manager want me on the team. They need the extra people, and they know I wouldn't have to be trained at all. However, since the Unicru test keeps coming up yellow, it won't even let them access my application. This is despite the fact that I have two years of experience working for this company.

The Unicru system is bad enough, but why subject re-hires to it? I left voluntarily, my file shows that I am eligible for re-hire, and the location in question wants me there. Why can't I just click "Yes" to "Have you worked for this company before?" and then have it verify my dates of employment?

I think the answer boils down to the fact that, in their eagerness to cut labor costs, companies are cutting corners in the places that are most vital to a successful operation. Human Resources is not something you can delegate to a computer. Computers CANNOT make the important distictions and intuitive decisions a good HR manager can make within five minutes of beginning an interview. You can have one hundred, one thousand, or one million questions, and the computer would still fall short.

And these companies wonder why this supposedly "foolproof" hiring system results in high turnover...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
